Features

A focused tool for makers who build surfaces.

Everything you need to take a sketch from inspiration to a printable file ready for the slicer.

Design from artwork

Upload an image or pick a black-and-white pattern. Tune the relief until it reads beautifully in 3D under raking light.

Export a casting mold

Mold STLs are mirrored on purpose, so the released tile face matches your original artwork — every time.

Build a full wall

Poster mode splits one large design into numbered tiles or molds with a printable assembly guide.

Tunable relief

Bevel, depth, base thickness, invert. All updates render live so you don’t guess your way to a print.

Clean, watertight meshes

Every export is a sealed manifold mesh validated for slicers. No leaks, no surprises at the printer.

No account required

Stripe Checkout charges per export. You don’t need to sign up or manage passwords to make a tile.

Use cases

Made for designers, makers, and fabrication teams.

PrintATile helps you move from concept to physical surface with fewer tooling iterations and clearer visual validation.

Interior accent walls

Turn family sketches, logos, or geometric studies into repeatable wall tiles for living rooms, studios, and retail spaces.

Small-batch craft production

Export mirrored molds for plaster, resin, or concrete runs so makers can cast consistent pieces with the correct final orientation.

Architectural prototyping

Quickly test motif scale, relief depth, and panel composition before committing to expensive tooling or large-format fabrication.

Workflow

From sketch to slicer in four steps.

A linear pipeline with a live preview at every stage. No black boxes.

  1. 01

    Upload or pick a pattern

Drop in a JPG/PNG/SVG, or start from the curated black-and-white library.

  2. 02

    Tune the relief

Adjust depth, bevel and base in real time. The 3D viewport updates with every change.

  3. 03

    Choose your mode

Single tile, mirrored casting mold, or full poster split across numbered tiles.

  4. 04

    Export the STL

Pay-per-file via Stripe. Download a slicer-ready mesh — no account needed.

Three modes

One editor. Three ways to make a wall.

Switch modes without losing your settings. Each one targets a different fabrication path.

Tile mode

Tile mode

Single relief tile, printable as-is. Perfect for testing patterns on the bed before going wall-scale.

Mold mode

Mold mode

Mirrored cavity geometry so plaster, resin or concrete casts release with your original artwork on the face.

Poster mode

Poster mode

Split a single image into a grid of numbered tiles. Print, assemble, and tile a full wall.

A movement, not just a tool

People should be able to make their own architectural surface, not just buy one.

The public target is 200,000 downloads. After that: visits, interviews, and real-world stories from the homes, studios and shops using the service. The live counter is wired to paid exports, so the number represents files people actually chose to download.

FAQ

Answers, before you ask.

The most common questions from the first wave of users.

Do I need an account?+

No. The editor is open and the checkout is per-file via Stripe. You can use Printatile without ever creating a password.

What does the STL include?+

A sealed, manifold mesh for the chosen mode — tile, mirrored mold, or poster grid pieces — sized exactly to your inputs and ready for any slicer.

Why are molds mirrored?+

Because the surface you cast against becomes the released face. Mirroring at export time guarantees the cast tile reads identically to your original artwork.

What kinds of artwork work best?+

High-contrast black-and-white shapes. The brighter areas become the raised relief, the darker areas the background. Most line art and stencils work out of the box.

Can I tile a full wall?+

Yes. Poster mode splits your design into a numbered grid with an assembly guide, so you can print one tile a day and end up with a full surface.

Which printers are supported?+

Any FDM or resin printer that takes STL. We test against Cura, PrusaSlicer and Bambu Studio.
